Non of us really liked Activision, let us pour more fuel on the burning flame. The situation between Infinity Ward and Activision has been tense for some time now and it looks like they are getting ready to butcher the cow that they milked the most. Infinity Ward's CEO's Vince Zampella and Jason West are fired with allegations of insubordination's from the monster publisher Activation. From the news popping up all over the inter-webs it looks like Jason West was removed from IW's HQ by some security guards. This is really sad news for all Call of Duty Modern Warfare fans that really supported IW from day one.
Here is a Facebook update of Jason West thanks to Kotaku.
How can Actvistion knock down IW's top men without any real information to back with up with? It has been rumored that Actvision owes Infinity Ward some royalties or the other way around, but what every it is... it's sad. SEC filing made earlier that morning and a human resources investigation was cited by Activision. This was put into effect to investigate "breaches of contract and insubordination by two senior employees at Infinity Ward." The contract for IW ends October 2010 and IW will release 2 DLC content packs before the next Call of Duty is made by Sledgehammer. I hope Sony Computer Entertainment America buys Infinity Ward as a first party for a new IP, just crossing my fingers. Looks like Battlefield Bad Company 2 will be just the next big thing.
