Call of Duty Invented the Internet!

You know, as the release of MAG approaches, I've seen in comments, and heard people utter that most popular of phrases. "Its just ripping off COD!" Its obviously just a call of duty clone right? Hell, if you like the Call of Duty series, it's your civic duty to troll everything MAG, and if possible do physical harm to the testicles of all of those who support such a blatant copy of what is the all time greatest game in the history of mankind. In fact, I would dare say in the history of the Universe until Aktar from Zimbian 9, of the Jackoffasian galaxy shows me his favorite game.
Of course, if you look at the surface, you see nice gratifying numbers pop up every time you do something in MAG, but to say that such a mechanic is the sole property of the COD series is a laugh. There are many games using that system these days, and not because its specifically tied to the gameplay of any one game. Its because of our ADHD tendencies and the need for instant gratification and a carrot dangled just out of our reach, to bribe us to keep playing what may very well be an otherwise suspect game. Now I'm not saying COD is suspect, or MAG for that matter. What I am saying is that those kind of scoring systems are going to be very familiar to many games and perhaps genres moving forward.
I wouldn't even say Call of Duty pioneered that. A game called Final Fantasy 7 was being played in the mid to latter 90's that had those hit points popping up on your screen as you did battle. This mechanic came from RPG's, not dadd Infinity Ward.
As for the rest of the aspects of the two games: Are you going to tell me that when you see one FPS, compared to another, you're too stupid to see where they diverge? I dare say that COD and MAG have very little in common, other than their views. For those of us that have played it, I'd say MAG shares more in common with the SOCOM series than COD.
I would go a step further my friends. We know that its not just MAG that has suffered this fate. Its any FPS, when coupled with an unimaginitive fanboy. Kneejerk reactions come natural to such people, as well as an unexplainable, ravenous desire to trash talk any game that isn't their beloved COD. Its quite sad. Just remember one thing, bitches. People were killing and knifing eachother on Counterstrike, long before either next gen system was even a thought. Get over it. Video games evolve. Ideas are taken and reproduced. You cannot reinvent the wheel every time you make a new game/song/movie. I know for a fact Infinity Ward didn't.
